Kendal's 1st Birthday Party

This weekend was Kendal's 1st birthday party. We tried to be creative with her birthday present since she has every toy and about every outfit a kid can wear. We got her a personalized bean bag from Pottery Barn Kids. Hopefully she'll enjoy it when she gets a little bigger.

It was a beautiful weekend so we spent the whole day over at the Schmidt's hanging outside, eating and drinking. We had a great time! Kendal wasn't too excited to dig into her cake...


so we got Maddy to help her. Kendal enjoyed feeding the cake to Maddy with a spoon.


The girls did a pretty good job of feeding each other but they still managed to get cake all over.


We decided the easiest way to clean the girls up was to just strip them down and put them in the pool.


The girls had a great time playing in the water and trying to catch the bubbles we were blowing at them. The cake made Kendal really thirsty so she kept trying to drink water from the pool. I sure hope neither of them peed in the pool. :)

After dinner, Marnie took the girls for a ride in her new bike trailer. Mike got Marnie a new bike for mother's day and the carrier for her birthday.


We were going to ride down to Coldstone Creamery for some ice cream but the kids got crabby after one time around the block. Part of the problem was Maddy pooped so she was crabby because she wanted her pants changed and Kendal just wanted some fresh air.


Sunday we participated in the Michigan's Parkinson Foundation Walk-a-thon. Again it was beautiful weather so it was nice to be outside enjoying the day. Maddy had a great time walking with grandma and grandpa and visiting with all the people.




Jason left to go to Canada for the week on Sunday night so Maddy and I have been having fun. We had our last swimming class on Monday night so we celebrated by going out for dinner after class with Ben, Sarah, Marnie and Kendal. We even got some free Coldstone. Last night we went for a nice walk and hung outside with Sarah and Ben. Maddy has made it very obvious that she has a crush on Ben. I think she gave Ben about 20 hugs last night. I'll work on getting some pictures and video of her PDA.
