Lake Dickerson with the Dewars

This past weekend we spent a great weekend at our friends lake cottage in Stanton, Michigan. We've been spoiled by all our friends inviting us to hang out with them on the water and we've been lucky enough to have gorgeous weather too. Tricia Dewar is a grade school friend of mine, actually we've known each other since the day I was born (Tricia was 3 days old). Her husband Pete and her have a son Jack that was born exactly 3 weeks after Maddy. He turns one this Friday!

It was go great spending time with them and letting the kids play. They live in Wisconsin so we don't get to see them much unfortunately. Maddy and Jack played great together. Jack fights back so its nice to see Maddy get a taste of her own medicine.

We of course stayed up way to late talking around the camp fire, which had a fire cracker shoot off from inside it (scary). We therefore only got a few hours of sleep and were exhausted in the morning when the kids woke up and were raring to go. I don't understand why we always do that to ourselves. We left after breakfast as we wanted to make a stop in DeWitt at Grandma and Grandpa Kreiders and then at Toys R' Us, plus make it home in time for a family afternoon nap. Maddy had a great time reading books with Grandma and then loved running around the toy store with her new popper. When we got home Maddy didn't want to take a nap but Jason and I really needed one so we listened to her cry for an hour before finally getting a well-needed 2 hour nap. So it was another great summer weekend!
