Wow, what a huge improvement from last week in both attitude and in eating solids. My happy baby is back. Last week it seemed like all Maddy did was cry. She was hungry and tired all the time and so if she wasn't drinking her bottle or sleeping... she was crying. It was miserable. This week she has been so much fun again. She didn't have a great week at daycare although her days home with me were great.
We started mixing formula with breast milk to hold her over a bit longer and it seemed to help... a little. She now is eating sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, and bananas. She is really eating good. Her favorite by far is bananas. She loves them. We are not fighting with her to open her mouth anymore which makes it much less frustrating. Every once and awhile she'll get stubborn but we know how to trick her by getting her to open her mouth for some puffs and then sneaking the spoon in instead. It's kinda mean of us but it allows us to still feel in charge, which is important for our parenting egos. Plus she gets us back by making us change those horribly stinky diapers.
Maddy is sleeping through the night great now too. This weekend she slept from about 9 pm to 8 am both mornings...it was wonderful. I think the formula really makes a difference. All in all it was a great week for our little Miss Maddy. Here are a few pictures from the week...

Maddy loves to stand at the patio door and look at Molokai.

Trying to feed herself is becoming more frequent.

Before taking the tree down, Maddy posed with all her Christmas presents under the tree one last time. Thank you again to everyone for all the great gifts. We are going to have a lot of fun although I'm still waiting for her playroom to be finished in the basement.
