Maddy went to the doctors of Friday morning for her 18 month wellness visit, however she was actually 19 months. No biggy as she didn't have any immunizations. She is thankfully extremely healthy and right on track.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 26 lb 11 oz (75th %ile)
Height: 35 1/8 in (>95th %ile)
Head Circumference: 19 in (85th %ile)
So she continues to take on daddy's features of being tall and having a big head. She is slowly tapering off in the weight department, becoming a bit more lean.
Dr. Kelly was much happier with Maddy's speech development. She is much less concerned with that now that she has a fairly large vocabulary. We sure can't understand all of it, but she said its normal to only understand about 50% so thats about right. So everything looked great, which was such a relief.
One thing that Dr. Kelly did say was that Maddy should not have a pacifier. I told her about the whole sucking the thumb thing that Maddy started in early December and she said that she would not recommend giving her a pacifier at this point. In fact, this age is usually when she advises her parents to take away the pacifier. So Maddy is not too happy about her "boppy" being taken away by Dr. Kelly. We are blaming it on Dr. Kelly so she isn't mad at us...its actually working pretty good. We are constantly asking Maddy to get her thumb out of her mouth, but hopefully if we stay consistent it won't take TOO long before she forgets about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
