Ugh...Maddy's first ear infection has arrived. Yesterday started as a normal day, Jason dropped Maddy off at daycare around 6:30 am. Before 8 am., Karen had called and said Maddy was throwing up. She had a 5 minute spell where they just held her over the sink and she continuously threw up. Jason left work to go get her and I called the pediatrician's office. They wanted to see her right away so I spent the next 30 minutes trying to get a hold of Jason. He wouldn't answer his phone so I called our neighbor and friend Sarah. She had to bundle up lil' Ben and run over to our house in the cold. Jason toke Maddy in and they diagnosed her with an ear infection in her left ear. Ugh...here we go. So now she is on amoxicillin, her first antibiotic!
Karen said Jason could drop her back off at daycare so that he could return to work. She had a great rest of the day and is her happy self. Tonight she even went and played with Kendal while we went to volleyball. I am a bit worried about the pressure building up in her ear on our upcoming flights to Hawaii. It could be a long day for all of us. Seems like we've had a spell of bad luck and bad timing.
