When I was 36 weeks pregnant with Mylee, Maddy came with Jason and I to my doctor's appointment to see baby sister. She talked to her sister on the doppler and was able to see her on the ultrasound that day, so with the thought of her baby sister fresh in her head we went to Build-a-Bear on the way home and had Maddy make a stuffed animal for her sister. It was something special that Maddy could do for her sister and be excited about bringing it to her on her birthday (in other words, when she was born). Maddy picked out a gray and pink kitty cat. She was a bit shy about it, but loved it at the same time. She especially liked picking out a heart and then giving "Junior" a bath was the best part.

(Maddy was in a big time momma phase for about a month before Mylee was born)
The week after Mylee was born when Jason was home for a few days we decided to take Maddy and Mylee back to Build-a-Bear so that Mylee could make one for Maddy. See Maddy really didn't totally want to give Mylee "Junior", so we thought we would clear it all up if Maddy had her own. As Mylee was obviously too young to pick out and build the animal we let Maddy do it all about but kept telling her it was from Mylee. She picked out a "Puppy" this time and again enjoyed putting the heart inside and bathing the dog.

Jason made the point when we left that we hope it isn't foreshadowning that the girls animals are a cat and a dog!

This is SUCH a good idea. I think we'll have to do this, too! We're at the 35 week mark, and our son is going through a super-clingy Mommy Phase, too. Glad to hear someone else went through the same thing! Your girls are adorable!
