Friday, April 3, Mylee had her two-week appointment. Her stats were:
Weight: 9 lb 9 oz
Height: 21.5 in
Head Circumference: 14 3/4 in.
Dr. Kelly was extremely happy with her weight gain and again we talked about her tongue but didn't take any actions as she is eating and thriving well. Mylee was showing off her muscle tone and lifting her head, but as I mentioned when you don't really have a neck its pretty easy to "lift your head". A few concerns I had was Mylee's belly button and fingers. Her umbilical cord stub fell off at 7 days old and was definitely not ready. It has been bleeding on and off since so I was concerned but Dr. Kelly said it looks okay and infection-free, so that was a relief. My concern with her fingers is that she appears to have a bunch of infected hang-nails. She has had them since birth but a few of her fingers are getting swollen and red. Dr. Kelly said I need to soak them and keep an eye on them and if they get worse we will need to get her on an antibiotic. Poor Mylee. Other than that, Mylee is a healthy baby so I feel very blessed.

(It cracks me up to put them in the same outfit and take a picture because I can't get over how much Mylee looks like her big sister did as a baby)
I wanted to mention in here really for my own documentation Mylee's sleeping habits so far. I usually try to feed her before bed sometime between 9 - 10 pm. She wanted to cluster feed for a few hours but after a few days of that I decided to try a pacifier instead of letting her cluster fee and use me as a pacifier. She usually is fussy for a few hours before falling asleep. Ugh! She then sleeps usually in 4 hour stretches, so I really can't complain. She doesn't fall back asleep right away but I let her fuss herself to sleep as long as she doesn't seem too uncomfortable. Jason hasn't been getting up at all yet so I get a bit jealous of his sleep but soon enough I'll introduce the bottle and night feedings will involve daddy. Yeah! For now though she is doing great and I know I shouldn't complain because she is a really good baby. We are all doing great with the new adjustment and couldn't imagine our family without Mylee a part of it!
