Grandpa Jon's Birthday

The weekend of the 13th we took Jason's dad out for lunch for his birthday. We missed the family dinner the night before because Jason had the flu. He was feeling better on Saturday so we went to Lansing and had a nice lunch at Cheddar's with just the four of us.

Since we were heading that way we stopped at the Okemos mall to see Santa and get a few things done at the mall. We lucked out and only waiting about 20 minutes. Thanks goodness because it would not have been worth a long wait as she still wasn't too fond of him. She walked up to him and talked to him, but would not sit on his lap again. She told him she wanted a bath robe and baby doll with a bottle (at least she is consistent). She also told him that she wasn't going to suck her thumb anymore. So we've been holding her to that. It was a good bride the whole month up to Christmas. "Maddy, remember you told Santa you weren't going to suck your thumb anymore. If you want him to bring you presents you need to show him that you are a big girl."
