The Coons Visit

My sister and her family, which includes 3 of my nieces and a nephew, came to visit for the first time in 2 years. We were so excited to have them in Howell to celebrate Maddy's birthday. It is getting more and more difficult all the time to get home to see family so it is always so appreciated when family comes to see us. It is extremely difficult for my sister to travel now that she has 4 kids, so we were especially ecstatic that they decided to come. With my brother-in-law being a teacher and my sister not having to save vacation time for another maternity leave they were able to spend 5 days with us. We had a blast! During the day we tried to plan lots of fun activities for the kids and then at night after the kids went to bed we stayed up playing the Wii. My sister was hilarious to watch, actually I'm sure we all were as we all had sore arms. Thanks for coming to spend some time with us Coons. We love you guys and sure enjoy having the kids around to spoil! Here's what we did...

We went to McDonalds one night for a refreshing ice cream treat after playing beach volleyball. The kids had a blast getting dirty playing in the sand and getting dirty eating the ice cream.

The weather was gorgeous while the Coons were here so we spent a day out at Independence Lake. It was a ton of fun but I got my first bee sting...stepped on a clover bare-footed...oops!

We ended the day by going swimming in the lake and playing in the sand on the beach. The kids finished by making a sand pit big enough for all of them to sit in.
