The Girls and I take a trip home

Early in the month Jason's dad seemed to take a turn for the worst and we weren't sure how much time we had left with him. Jason wanted to spend as much time as he could with his dad so he wasn't home much. This sort of became overwhelming for me rather quickly as I was trying to chase around Maddy, take care of Mylee with still getting up at night, feed myself and the girls, keep up on housework and the yard work, finish up some unfinished projects (which I won't mentioned specifically as some of us would rather soon forget), and prepare for the big party weekend. After getting 2 stys from stress, I decided to get away from it all and go up north with the girls so that I could get a little help and relax as well as spend some time with family. I wanted Jason to be able to spend as much time with his parents during this time too and not feel the pressure of coming home to us girls. It really worked out great for both of us. My cousin Christopher was able to come with the girls and I too, so that helped to have someone to drive with and help with the girls in the car. The girls were awesome both ways...I was pleasantly surprised. The trip was great...I'm so glad I did it. I just love being home, especially in the summer when all the kids are out of school. I didn't get to water ski, which was a bummer, but a sacrifice for doing the single parent thing. My sister and her kids were home too so it was a perfect time to be there. The weather was miserably cold however...ugh. I didn't get but a few pictures either (sorry).

The kids played together non-stop...

Jaelyn "The Chef"

...and even entertained us some of the time

Jaelyn, did you forget something???

Mylee's bathtime
(Good thing Grandma's new tub is so big
because the bathtub always seems to fill up with cousins)

Brooke holding up 2 fingers...one for each goal she scored
(We watched my niece Brooke play soccer in the rain and 40 degree weather.
It was worth it though to watch her play. She is awesome! I was so proud of her)

Jordyn, Izzy, Addisyn, Jaelyn, and John V in the tub at the library
(Maddy wasn't cooperating so we booted her from the picture.)

We went to the library one day with all the kids to watch a juggler. This was after vacation bible school and lunch playing at Burger King so I think Maddy was getting a bit tired. It was a great week home.

Side Note: This was around the time that Maddy started becoming fearful of being left alone. This is a stage that can't end soon enough. Not sure how or why this started but it is painful for all of us.
